Headaches
Headaches may be due to various causes such as cervicogenic (from the neck), tension, TMJ and sinus headaches. These can all be effectively treated with physiotherapy
Joint mobilisation
Mobilisation of painful or stiff joints is skilfully performed to improve range of movement and reduce pain
Sports injuries
Too much, too fast, too soon, are the 3 main causes of sports injuries. Damage to musculoskeletal structures exceeds the body’s repair process, resulting in sprains and strains.
Soft tissue release
Easing tension in muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia by massage, muscle energy techniques and trigger point release
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a form of physical therapy used to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It is an invasive form of myofascial release in which thin, flexible needles are inserted into taught bands or “knots” in the muscle or soft tissue.
What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a health care profession concerned with human function and movement. Treatment for pain or an injury includes mobilising of the symptomatic joints, release of soft tissue and reducing inflammation. Soft tissue release can be done by massage, trigger point release and dry needling. Treatment is often followed by strapping to support or facilite certain areas, and exercise.
Cheryl's field of interest is spinal and sport injuries and her special interest is dry needling.
